This was a movie from the 1980's.   I thought it was War Games but having watched it a few times since, I do not see the  2 scenes on War Games that I am looking for.  I think it might have had the same premise, an intelligent boy who gets in trouble with the goverment or spies because of what he discovers.

The premise, I think, was basically the same.  However, the boy seeks out the help of two computer geeks to help him and they are later found dead.  The boy also goes to an amusement park to escape the men after him.  These two scenes were not in War Games that I saw on HBO a few months ago, so I do not think that was the film, unless the scenes were cut out.  But, it was on HBO so I thought I was watching the full theatrical version.

This has been driving me crazy for years, trying to remember the name of the film so I could watch it again.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Kuston, you were correct.  I really appreciate it and am wondering how you knew it with what little clues I gave.

thanks again....rob

There is a movie called "War Games 2" The Dead Code

"Young computer whiz Will Farmer (Matt Lanter) inadvertently sparks an international incident when he hacks into a government supercomputer simulation named R.I.P.L.E.Y."

Maybe "The Net" with Sandra Bullock? It has dead computer geeks and amusement park.
