Start dates for most of the sci-fi/fantasy shows so none of us miss the first episode of our favorite shows or new shows. I try to keep this list fairly up-to-date so that everyone can see at a glance what shows are currently running, what shows will be starting soon, and what shows might be on the horizon. Futurama season starts Wednesday.

Legend of Korra season finished, will return probably next spring.

I watched the first premiere episode of Falling Skies and last Sunday's episode, same old same, boring stuff.  Compare that to the writing of The Walking Dead, and TWD scores way ahead in my book.  I don't know why, but a lot of screen writers for SF just don't have any idea of how to write SF anymore.

I watched the 2nd season premier of Falling Skies (wife watches it) and it's just as bad as last year.  Canadians just have no clue how to write for American audiences.

I guess ET, but I might broaden that to "all" audiences since most movies, televison, etc. are eventually put on DVD these days and available all over the world.  I don't know for me it's just piss poor writing.  I don't know if the X-Files was written and produced here in the states (I think so) and just made in Canada, but a better show, although it couldn't keep the consistency once Skinner (their boss) left the show, and the later seasons got worse overall for several reasons.

I had some guy tell me that the writing and characterization for Falling Skies was written well, and had characterization in spades.  I posted, well, who are these characters, what are their past lives, what were they doing, how did they come together, what happened to Wyle's wife, who is the captain guy with the pony tail (which is ridiculous--so this ex-army G.I. corp dick guy is  the pony tail guy...). etc.  Then he goes, he's getting bored with the series...   eye rolls

Agree.  BTW X-Files, and the first Stargate series - written in the US, shot in Canada.

Just me, but Canadian shows seem to be extra slow, as if the viewers need lots of time to process any dialog or important photographic material.  An example is the  Canadian cop show Flashpoint.  If Canadians are really this slow, a show like 24 would probably give them heart attacks.  So I think it's just the Canadian producers who need schooling.

Misfits new show starts Wednesday.

Warehouse 13 season starts Monday.

Alphas season starts Monday.

Lost Girl moves to Friday.

Eureka season finished, and canceled.

Grimm season starts tonight.

Teen Wolf season finished, will return next year with a longer season.

Falling Skies season finished, will return next Summer.

Doctor Who season starts tomorrow.

Futurama season finished, will return next summer.

True Blood season finished, will return next summer.

Wondered if anyone is tuning in to the new Doctor Who season.  I've enjoyed a the new Face Off season on Syfy, and also something about obsessive collectors who collect anything from Star Wars stuff to action figures.  There's also a new series that looks like I'd enjoy about set design.  There's also a new Green Arrow series on the CW channel, could hold promise.

I tune in to Doctor Who and can't wait for the next regeneration. While there have been a few good stories, the current Doctor is a little too childish to me. He would have made a great Sara Jane replacement after her death. But his character lacks the maturity that I desire from Doctor Who.
