According to a Lorne Michaels' interview for the book Live From New York, "The only note we got from the network on the first show was 'Cut the bees.' And so I made sure I put them in the next show."
I have the Monty Python boxed DVD set loaded in a 300 disk DVD carousel and it is so slow and clunky to step through episodes, and it doesn't remember where I got to if I watch anything else in the meantime, so it was easier to stream it from Netf...
It's about the journey, not the destination... it took me a few months to watch all 45 Monty Python episodes in order. Nice thing is that Netflix remembers where I have got to.
The Starz channel source tends to get well known movies about 6 months after DVD release (e.g. Ratatouille) and keep them for a few months rather than years. Right now you get to watch Bolt and Wall-E instead of Ratatouille.

Movies you have already seen get filtered out, so that can make it look like there is less there over time.
The Starz deal is a rolling window of titles, so anything that Starz channel has comes to Netflix, and goes away when Starz drop it.

Nice, I did not notice (or think about) moving an individual title after the sort. Adding the position would then be unnecessary so I wouldn't bother adding it unless you think of a subtle or cool way of displaying it.

I am a profile on a shared account. The current "head" profile has ~1500 movies rated, and 1400 suggestions, and another profile has ~850 movies also and less than 10 suggestions.
