The last foreign film I watched was A Very Long Engagement on instant watch the other night. It felt, as stated in the title, very long at times, but it was quite charming. As with the other European films I've seen, there are a lot of characters ...
I recently saw Last Year at Marienbad. It was interesting and subversive for its time. It's style was hijacked by those Calvin Klein Obsession ads where some moody person looks into the camera and says something confessional about an elusive woman...
A letter from an unknown woman. 3 stars
Based on a beautiful short story by Stefan Zweig, this movie was adopted from Vienna to China against the backdrop of the revolution. The movie is pretty true to the story, and I felt that Zweig's beautifu...
Yesterday I watched a wonderful Korean film My Mother, the Mermaid

Well major props to you for knowing Breakin! Not too many do and the ones that do, have teased me mercilessly!
Thanx for enjoying my page, at least I'm not the only one:)
Thanks for the comment buddy, I'm normally able to settle for martial arts movies with half way decent quality. It's something I had grown used to coming from the VHS age as well. But when I first saw "Heroes of the East", I was quite amazed at the quality of the production. Dragon Dynasty(DD) has done some great work transferring oldies(as well as new movies) to DVD. While I don't currently own a Blu-Ray player, I'm hoping they will eventually transition to high-def Bluray so that the quality is even better presented. I think one of the best things about DD is that whoever is behind the scenes picking out the movies to transfer, has similar taste to my own so I'm glad they are picking up the movies I've enjoyed and will continue to enjoy.
