Ex-Pat From Manchester UK now living in NY for seventeen years have two children, three cats, one fish and one recently demised frog. Love movies for the nostalgia, for the family connections, that they remind me of back home, that they transport me to the future, or to the past. Best of all I love movies that make me laugh my socks off I "Love dysfunction, it makes me feel at home"
I just finished watching To Serve Them All of My Days which you have probably seen as it is BBC. I loved it very much. 4 Discs but so wonderful!! The teacher stories always my faves as that was what I went to school for and have practiced in y life.
By the way, We all have our own writing styles and I believe what some may think silly others enjoy because it gives a personal glimpse of who you are and why you are writing. I see you are very concise and that is great. I don't just write to please people but as an expression. Everyone may not agree with my observations but then they can disagree and write their own reviews with their opinions. However, I try to be very fair and as positive as I can unless I hated the movie, which is usually rare. Thanks for listening.
I did not enjoy that movie because I wanted to know more about Daphne's life other than just her sexual orientation. I know her father played an important role in her life and there was so much more they could have delved into, like why she was never very well accepted as a writer, etc. I really did not care much about the two women characters that the movie revolved around. The acting was good, but script not that great for me.
I purchased MRS MINIVER years ago and love rewatching it. I love Greer Garson, such a lady, and she is also paired with Walter Pidgeon. They made several movies together, were very natural together. I love the part about the little man who wants to name a rose after her. It is so sweet.
We lived in Germany for three years in the early 80's as my husband was a USAF pilot who worked a lot with the Brits. He got to go to England but I never did and that is the one place I would rather visit than anywhere else. We also lived two years in Korea before coming to the Northwest. It looks a lot like England and Germany here in Western Washington because of all the rain. We love it here. I think you and I have very similar taste in movies. I have Bleak House part one to watch and somehow they dropped the ball on part 2 and are sending me part 3 tomorrow. Have you seen Bleak House? I love Dickens. As you can see, my reviews are like the way I talk, chatty.
Netflix has you at 88% alike putting you at the top of my page. Amazing. I love your artwork , did you draw it yourself? Have you had problems this week getting your movies? Everyone seems to be quite upset, we love our movies!! Nice to chat with you....Cheryl
"All Too Much, as well.
Many years later I got the "new " CD (1999, I think it came with a DVD of the film) and it's got more tracks, but it's missing the second side of the original album altogether (Pepperland, Sea of Holes,…"

"Those stream settings are for viewing movies on my computer, aren't they? I wish to watch streaming movies mostly on my television.
In any case, I set the quality to Good, and the movie does seem to play better on the TV.
