its been a while since i used ebay, but couldn't you have set your maximum bid to say um i dont know like 7 bucks so that if someone comes along and bids an extra 50 cents while you're on the toilet that it'll automatically rebid for you?
We bid $5.00 but this guy beat me out by $0.50 when we were away from the computer!
