Srujan my friend! I have not heard from you in way too long! How is school going? I know it keeps you very busy. Are you on Facebook? If you are, please add me as a friend. I go by Stacy Ann Link there. It is so much easier to communicate there!

Ah, I remember my college years... they were great years, lots of work, but fun. Well, I am here whenever you have a few minutes to chat, but alas, yes... school must come first for you.

Ah, glad to make your acquaintance Srujan!!!

I haven't seen any of Godard's films... I should. But I do agree that The Station Agent is better than The Visitor. Thanks for recommending Edge of Heaven, I will queue it. The only Malle'smovie I like is Au Revoire Les Enfants. Watched Damage, it's powerful, but don't totally get it.

I do like After The Wedding , Things We Lost In The Fire, and Open Hearts - I have to admit Bier is somewhat of an acquired taste.

Jensen's style is actually quite different from Bier's. His films are in the dark comedy genre. But he did write for Bier's movies, After The Wedding, Open Hearts and Brothers. The movies that he wrote and directed are Flickering Lights, The Green Butchers and Adam's Apples.

Aaahh... Srujan, you just said the magic name: Kieslowski!!! I love all of his movies, have been rewatching them since there is no more new ones - sad.

Hi Srujan! I love foreign and indie films too, so could I be on your friend list?? I see some of my good friends are there, Richie and Staahsha.

I got my start on foreign film watching Wim Wender's Wings of Desire, I never look back since. I recently discovered Wong Kar Wai, but can't say I am a true fan, because I only like In The Mood and 2046, oh and My Bluberry Nights, of course. I am anxious to see Ashes of Time Redux... Richie Millenium is watching it tonight - he's going to report to me. I grew up with martial art/swordsmen films.

I am still a newbie when it comes to French films, don't care for Malle, but found some of Truffaut films that I like, ie The 400 Blows.

Indie films.... I think my two most favorites are The Station Agent and The Visitor.

I am a fan of Anders Thomas Jensen and Susanne Bier films.

My blueberry nights is three part collage of a movie. The middle part With Rachael Weisz and David Strathairn was classic Wang Kar Wai. Norah Jones music contribution was excellent, I'm not to sure about her acting performance though. Jude Law was ok. The movie was interesting to say the least and to tell you the truth talking about it is making me want to watch it again, so it can't be that bad. It could be one to grow on ya.

I read that you love Wong Kar Wai on Richies page and can't help but feel you have good taste in movies. I think my favorite of his is.... oh i can't choose between In the mood for love, Days of Being Wild and Falling Angels. Those three really encapsulate why I love Wai so much. My Blueberry Nights was valiant first attempt at making a film in English with big Hollywood names. Notice I said valiant, in that is was definitely a characteristic Wai film it just didn't hold up to the haunting beauty of the other three movies I mentioned. I love the Pic up line about the time in Days of Being Wild.

Yes, it is Visconti. I am interested in those other two you mentioned. Autumn Sonata, especially, but I don't like how the daughter recants in the end. I know it is like that for a lot of adult children, but not me. Personally, I like how A Thousand Acres ends with the daughter sticking to the truth to the death. That was nice of you to visit my friend's photo stream at flickr, he welcomes comments, if you feel you would like to make any. What is Syndromes?

OH no, I didn't know about flikr, I go there once a week to view my friend dreamworker32000's photos before I email him. He lives in Thailand and takes great portraits of the people on the street. I'm afraid I haven't added many photos to my page there. I watched an Italian film from 1963 called The Leopard, it was pretty good. Completely different subject matter but same production values as Contempt. I recently did a close viewing of Bergman's Cries and Whispers for a short paper for my film class. My soul is still resonating. It may be the most masterful work of art I have ever seen. Plus, he and I share the same kind of thinking on God, religion and especially family and most especially, the effect of one's childhood on one's art. Thanks for asking! How about you?
