No boat here, just a chance to catch up on movies. It's a little like finding a mosquito in the Arctic; who would have guessed? I didn't even know there were movies in Idaho. Now we have access to a hundred thousand of them.
Hi! Well this is an honor! I haven't done this before! I used to live on a boat in the canal district south of the UW in Seattle, so that is something in common... and movies. Now it's Idaho, but the movies don't know that!
Did you just watch Persepolis?? Isn't that an amazing movie? My graduate advisor was born in Iran. His family moved here before the revolution started. It's pretty harrowing to hear a first hand account. Yep, this is cinema at its best for me... educating people about what's going on out there in the world through artforms.
Treesinthedark, I would highly recommend you start with The Three Colors Trilogy, Blue, White and Red. I like White the least of the three. But overall, they are poignant movies loaded with symbolisms. Let me know what you think of them.
I am yet to see The Motorcycle Diaries and The Barbarian Invasion. Zelary is on my queue.
Not all American movies are bad.... check out the indie genre, particularly The Station Agent. It is a slow paced film, but emotionally charged. Recently I saw Everything Is Illuminated and really love it. I love movies about or related to the holocausts.

Hey thanks for friending me.
I stumbled on Adam's Apples thanks to a brief man-crush on Mads Mikkelsen after seeing his Tristan character in King Arthur. Neato foreign flick. Very fortunate find.
