Dig-Me-Up said… Tonight's Hannibal called "Fromage" was quite good. In fact the show was a War of the Titans in that it featured a battle between Hannibal and another serial killer. The other killer is a music teacher and an artistic sort of person like Hannibal. Both killers really went at it,. and it was quite a battle. Oh,. and Jillian Anderson returned as Hannibal's psychiatrist in this show. There are five more episodes to this series and the last show will be on June 20th. I have my suspicions on how the show might progress but they are only guesses. And I don't want to give away too too much info.
Here is a picture of the two killers battling.
Dig-Me-Up said… I finished my own short sets of horror movies and added them to your blog page. Perhaps it will give you some new films to watch when you get the time. Including less popularized films like Mr. Frost which is a nice slow creepy film with Jeff Goldblum who plays a very cold serial killer who claims he is the devil who came down to restore belief in him in a world that doesn't believe anymore (though that isn't his exact words). Even though a lot of blood isn't shown it is a nice dark film.
Dig-Me-Up said… Thanks for the link. I'll have a longer look at it later. It looks like a nice page. The problem with comparing movies sometimes is that different movie eras have an entirely different flavor. Early films like The Changling with George C Scott have a nice creepy feel and a great plot,. but very few effects. Films in and around the 80's have more of a funny campy dumb college kid feel. Like An American Werewolf in London where they recite the warning of stich to the roads and say "Ut OHH" realizing they are off the roadway. And the funny moment where the dead friend waves at David with a Mickey Mouse figure and says "Hi David" with it. Which is a really cute moment for someone who had his face ripped off. Now there are a few classes of films like films that are nearly snuff films like Martyrs and Saw,. and special effect films with the rating lower than an R rating to bring in the teen dollars. They usually have more action and special effects and zero creepy factor. Like Van Helsing and the Underworld series that has made a good deal of money.
The YouTube films that are posted by individuals can be watched for free by YouTube also sells the right to watch some films. But I have found a lot of free films,. but a person has to hunt for them. I don't know if the various films can be downloaded or if they must be watched right away. And I am wondering if tonight's episode Sorbet is available to download at the same moment that the show starts to air or not.
Hannibal was pretty good and Gillian Anderson was in a roll where she was calm and logical and analytical. And she will be back in the next show. I won't tell about other surprises in next weeks show,. even though I want to. But you will be surprised.
Dig-Me-Up said… Also tonight's episode is called "Sorbet". I think the titles of shows that are named after food dishes are perhaps going to go a little too far eventually.
Dig-Me-Up said… You're Welcome.
Have you seen seen the 1995 offbeat odd phenomenon show called Strange Luck? I haven't seen any episodes for sale for some reason. It is about a man who carries a supernatural strength dose of luck,. usually good luck. It was luck that saved his life as a child. He was the only survivor of a plane crash. And his luck keeps drawing him closer to his birth family. Here is a link to the first part of one of the episodes on YouTube. Most or all of the episodes are there.
Dig-Me-Up said… Tonight on Hannibal Jillian Anderson (who played agent Scully on the X-Files) will play Hannibals psychiatrist. I wonder what secrets she already knows about Hannibal that she might be hiding. Today though psychiatrists don't hide many dangerous secrets,. because of legal reasons they are required to notify police of possible dangers. But it's just a show so who knows.
Dig-Me-Up said… Yes Eddie Izzard portrayed a killer who was in an asylum. He was sort of a quiet Dr Lector insane sort, but in an asylum rather than in a jail. The TV series keeps having small details that are in the various movies. Like Hannibal being an artist and cooking fancy meals (sometimes made with organ meat from victims). It's funny that the episodes are often given the name of food dishes like the show titled "Entree". I was surprised that they were able to get Lawrence Fishburn to play FBI investigator Jack Crawford. I have been watching for the appearance of the character Clairece Starling like in Silence of the Lambs. But that might not happen because that happens in Silence of the Lambs after a number of years after Hannibal Lector has been caught. I imagine that they will eventually allow Hannibal to be caught even though right now he occasionally acts as an investigator and criminal profiler.
Dig-Me-Up said… It seems like there is more possible proof of Hannibal being a killer in the future. Like the sketch that he created that may be floating around as a personal trophy that he has probably kept. The killer played by Eddie Izzard may do more to point to Hannibal that to protect him (which I think was the purpose of his confession). I think he must have had Hannibal as his therapist.

Dig-Me-Up said… I saw the first 20 or so minutes of the Asian film titled "Reincarnation. That was all that was available online for some reason. I liked the doll character. Something like that would have been a good addition to the Silent Hill films. Of the two Silent Hill film the first one was the best. The second one had no creepy feel to it and the second one missed the mark completely. Though I could watch them both again and see if I am being too critical..
