I had the same issue. It turned out to be a digital rights components problem for me. Basically you need to be running the latest DRM components for Windows media player for this to work. To update to the latest go to this URL: http://drmlicense.one

Krull ...and most of the Starz content. Would rather Netflix not release 4:3 at all, unless original aspect.

Haven't we had this discussion before (and I agree with everyone else, btw)? There's a thread called "list IW movies that are in the wrong aspect ratio" (or something to that effect) where you can list which ones have been mistreated in this shamef…

Hear, hear. And has anyone else watched the "documentaries" from Starz? Pretty lame. Very similar to watching "a very special episode" of Best Week Ever or one of those terrible "countdown of the scariest movie moments/best teen grossout comedies/e…

Netflix needs to dump Starz. If Starz wants them, they need to provide 16:9 and in better quality.

It's possible to go back to the non-beta, if you attempt to try it out. However, as a general rule, I use non-beta versions for programs.

Of course they don't support it since it's a beta. I imagine since it's beta, some streams might have problems, so it may not be wise to use it yet - can always go back. I'm having better results though so far. The new player supposedly better balan…

Netflix doesn't support the Beta 3 version. I tried it, and had to go back to Version 2 because of bad scratchy sound.

^Or dump them.

So is Netflix aware of this? Do they even acknowledge it's an issue for just about everyone? My bet is they were pressured by the studios to have better DRM and they rushed the release of Silverlight.

I meant that I have no problem displaying content that has much higher requirements. It plays true 1080p HD content flawlessly yet Silverlight is jerky. My only point is that the issue is not about having enough juice in the box.
