OKay, I'll admit from the start that I didn't look through all the former discussions, so maybe this has already been discussed. Give me a break, I'm at work and need to be doing some actual work.…Continue

No.
About Me:
Because of unfortunate incidents in movie theatres in my younger years (I have a hard time with graphic violence), I stopped going to movie theatres about 10 years ago. With Netflix I am catching up. Love being able to watch on DVD since I can fast forward, stop or otherwise control the images that might upset my sensitive constitution. I like good stories, sci fi and intelligence in movies. I am always seeking movies to make me laugh, but most comedies don't do that for me. I am a writer/teacher so enjoy reading others reviews. Purple IS queen!

A few months ago I started a list with movies that have the same name. It got to be too big to have it all in one thread, therefore, I created a group that could do justice to this project. I invite you to join the group and we could all continue with this project.
Group: Netflix Movies
Index: Movies with same name.

Hey, the Queen of Purple.... happy belated birthday!!! It sounded like you celebrated it just the way you like it - that's the best. I wish you a good year filled with joy, peace and good health... and may each day in the coming year bring meaning and blessings.

Which beach were you at??? I sure hope it wasn't the Gulf Coast!!??!!
Well... I'll let you get your bearing back... take a deep breath and one task at the time. Have a good day.

VJ, thanks for taking the time to read what I wrote! I am not a real movie reviewer - I write them for my benefit, writing helps me reason and process. Do you write reviews??? I haven't that much time digging deeper in this Netflix thing yet.

Rice People is an interesting look at lives of poor farmers in Vietnam. It does not have interesting plots or great actings, but I like it because it shows me something different, different lives, different cultures, and yet human just like the rest of us, trying to live lives worth living.

New mom?? Well that depends... my Son is five now, I guess it's relatively new. He takes up most of my time and I am enjoying him very much. Kids grow up so fast - I hope and pray I don't waste time doing silly things that I miss out on spending more time with him.

VJ, I lefts a long monologue on the Viva Laldjerie discussion page. But, I want to tell you that our back-n-forth has helped me appreciate the movie and thus... I changed my rating for it to 4/5 stars! I needed someone to process this multilayered film to truly appreciate it! Thanks.

Hi VJ. As for Iranian films, there sure have been some great ones in the last ten years! I do not go to theatres either (although before i became ill i went constantly..) so Netflix and DVD's have pretty much saved my life. I really don't know how I would have made it without this particular transformation in technology. Also, VJ, i love the purple roses, did you take this shot?

I completely understand about work, mine is killing me. Fortunately, my favorite way to unwind involves a movie, a slice of pizza, and some yummy vino. Hopefully things won't get too bogged down for you.

I was just going through the Foriegn Cinema group and noticed all the threads you tried to start in the past. Give me some time to play catch up and to get to some of those titles.
