I noticed that you said you've been in and out of the hospital. Dammit Sev, take care of yourself! It is not the same around here without you. No one is trying to sneak a peek at me and make lewd comments ;)
I found Robert Shaw as Claudius to be in way over his head - may be if he had done this when he was more seasoned (see his performance in "Jaws"), then he would have been believable - more gravitas. Here, he's just like most of the cast - cardboard.
Alec Clunes (Polonius) delivers the "warning speech" to his daughter and son as perfectly as I've ever heard. It has that rushed, I love you please listen to me (although I know you're not) quality that can be heard in any airport in the world. Pitch perfect.
The rest - blah.
Except for the comic relief; both intentional - Roy Kinnear as the gravedigger; and unintentional - the intensely funny germanic Donald Sutherland as Fortinbras.
The film. Aside from it's poorly lit videotape very flat look, staging scenes outside at night just to get the partially lit up Castle in the background, etc. Shadows, sometimes multiple shadows of people and equipment flowing over the center image character. Most of the secondary cast missing their marks and hesitant with their lines. Good God, Sev - the film is a disaster. Without Plummer it should be laid to rest near some very powerful magnets.
"Chances are, it was the Millicent and Therese segment of the 1975 TV movie, Trilogy of Terror. Karen Black plays both parts. One a prudish brunette, the other a fun loving blonde.
The segment is on YouTube in two parts.…"

Another great BBC series. Historically based drama about an 18Th Century defense attorney who changed British criminal defense.

"I've read Kip Thorne's book. Slicing spinning wormholes in half like a bagel and towing one half across the galaxy to where you want to go would take energy he kind of cheats on getting - but in SF you are allowed to postulate one…"
"The Outfit: I caught it the other night on TCM and thought it was still a good movie, sort of felt it might have influence Tarantino in his crime phase. The ending was a little bit cliched with the happy ending humor, but I could…"
"Warner has set up a sweet operation, that while it's not cheap - isn't overpriced either. Warner Archive has out of print titles that you can digitally download for around $10 or they will burn you a DVD with full case and liner for less…"
"Q is one of the funny ones. For a complete rundown - full spoilers - go here.
You know, 26 of them - I didn't take notes. My copy *ahem* does not have subtitles and most of the films are not in English; although except for G (which I…"
"If you think about it, all action stars probably share the one expression, passing it between themselves as needed. Except when Kristen Stuart needs to have the original back."

Sev, if this doesn't cure you, I don't know what will ....

Sev?
Happy Claude Rains BD to you!
Sevorin:
I'm glad to see you back. Hope you are feeling better. I'm having medical issues myself, so I understand.

You recommended Elsinore for Hamlet. And a fantastic performance by Plummer it was! Thank you very much.

Plummer is excellent. The film is not.
