Looking for straight answers?

If you have problems or concerns about Netflix, I'll be happy to help. You can approach me without fear of being humiliated or assaulted with 4-letter expletives. I've had 4 years of experience of dealing with Netflix's problems. I'm also familiar with other on-line DVD delivery services to offer comparisons.

I have to disagree with "it's a movie rental service that offers New Releases"...it hid the new releases from the average user and now offers movies that are 5 months old (and let's not forget the category Popular DVDs from one year ago). To find the New Release page I had to find the customer service number that is not prominently displayed on the site because they don't answer emails. I was given a page to type into the computer which was sufficient until the page quit working...I then resorted to hunting on the web...and I'm your parents generation and hate using this thing. Sorry...digress. I disagree with your statement.

Yes, Aran. When you are given bad service you should just accept it. Don't expect understanding from people who haven't experienced the same poor service. Other people simply can't be empathetic. It's far too much to expect that someone who hasn't shared your experience would sympathize. You should just get out of their world. You're dirtying it up with the negativity you have created by allowing Netflix to give you poor service by signing up for an account after they ran your local video store out of business. Stop bothering people for crying out loud. They're happy without hearing about bad stuff and you are ruining it for them.

They don't screw anyone over. It's not like they just stop sending you movies. Netflix isn't Big Brother lording over all you do. We're talking about $16 a month for DVD rentals.

They have to have a way of deciding who gets movies. This is their way. They only have maybe 1 million copies of No Country for Old Men, but they have 3 million people who all want it at the same time, so they have to choose who gets it first. They're OBVIOUSLY going to choose the people from which they make the most profit. That's it, plain and simple. They're not "screwing you over," because you WILL GET your movies eventually. Maybe you're number 50 on their list, and they've got 30 copies of the movie. It'll get to you eventually. That's why we have queues.

They do have a way of deciding. The people who spend less get more. So, I am trying it their way now. i cut my plan in half. Also, when I have not received a new release in three WEEKS and they continually skip the first 20 movies, that is not fair. You are right, we can bitch or we can do something about it. I'm willing to play their game. I have two movies I received on Tues. that I won't send back til tomorrow (Sat). Maybe this way I can get one new release, which by this point isn't a new release because it's been out for freakin three weeks!!! I just want to be 'dethrottled'.

There is an element of truth to this, certainly. But it's funny - and i'm sincere when i say this - when I think of this same statement from the point of view i felt when i was at Netflix, I'd say "we're obviously going to chose the people who for whatever reason, pay the most money per disc they watch. That's it, plain and simple..."

If one person tends to spend $0.75 for each movie they watch, and another person spends $3.00 for each movie they watch -- even if they're on the same plan -- I think I feel good and pretty fair by opting for the guy spending the most in those odd times of limited resources. You can call this "spin" I suppose. It's just my point of view. But I really feel that it's no less honest a way to describe the situation. It is definitely a drag not getting the movie you want right away - and you can blame netflix certainly. If the value proposition doesn't work for you, you really should find a service that delivers what you need at a price that works. I think the netflix balance of price and performance is remarkable. but yes, i'm biased.

Sorry for being facetious, but is there anyone else to blame? :-)

That's right. It's just $16 a month. Give it up and forget it. It's not like you wouldn't just spend it on lattes anyway. It's only your money. You'll be much happier if you can just accept that giving money for lousy service is okay with most people. Get your sympathy from people who care. Okay, that's a really limited group. But, how about this; try to be happy and never, ever, complain. Got it? there you go. Isn't that so much better?

What, you don't think people can be dissatisfied with Netflix unless they are recruited?

Said nothing of the sort.

I mentioned a perceptible pattern. Those who observe the pattern, or fail to see any such pattern, are free to draw their own conclusions. Other than infrequent visitors and recent joiners, we all have our own eyes, and don't need your "spin" to draw an opinion.

By the way, this is completely untrue, what you have stated here. I am on a 3 at a time plan and have been for years and I do not sit on my movies and I garner anywhere from 6 to 7 new movies every week! I can't even imagine what you are talking about! As fast as I can turn them around is generally how fast I receive them! Period. Frankly your post here is unintelligent.
