Why doesn't netflix start shipping on saturdays?

I think we pay them enough money every month for them to get a few more employees.If the post office is working they should be too!I've noticed when I ship a movie back on friday they don't receive it untill tuesday but if I ship it on mon- thur they receive it the next business day I think they have so many movies received on monday that have to be processed from friday and saturday that it sometimes takes till tuesday to say they "recieved" the movie.
I guess your all right i really shouldnt be complaining it really is a great service seems like you all think its more the post office than netflix i live in a very small town about100 miles from netflix so i guess i'll have to time my returns for mon-thur and get over it sorry i stand corrected

Are we sure they don't work? They might be there processing returns so they don't have to do everything Monday.

If I mail on Thursday I won't get movies until the next week. I have to mail Tuesday or Wednesday to get something back on Saturday.

REasons (mainly) they cannot ship out on Saturdays b/c of a few variables:
- post office cut off time is WAY earlier - hence your movies are going to sit around in the USPS bin anyway until MOnday, and then they'd process and ship out and you may get Mon or Tue
-costs to run another day in all hubs /satellites

_ note: most metro or suburban USPS offices on weekends- your mail does NOT go to your local USPS office/hub - it gets sent to one of a few main processing mail centers - so your returns go farther away to get processed by the usps, and then hence take longer to get back to netflix to be checked in. i recommend either asking your post office where mail goes on weekends or not sending in on weekends.

That's not it in Arkansas. If takes 2-3 days to get back and get processed but once they ship it I get it the next day.

I agree with you; was thinking the same thing this morning - if you don't get your movies watched and in the mail by Thursday (for Friday turn-around), then Netflix won't receive it till Monday and you won't get the new one till Tuesday. That gives you a gap from Thursday morning till Tuesday. It doesn't have to be taking away employees weekends. Hire a few people to just come in and work on Sat for a little extra money? Lots of retirees would do it.

I don't know how they do it but I've seen them ship on postal holidays. I received the next day. As far as saturday goes, if I return on sat. I get my next one on tuesday. (usually)

Not me. If I return on Saturday I will get back on Wednesday or Thursday.

i am so there with you. Lately my movies get further & further apart. If I mail a movie back on Monday the earliest they will receive it is Wednesday (now). But if they mail it to me I get it the next day. So obviously they are way behind.
