Thanks for joining Movie Fans! We are a diverse collection of movie lovers with varied tastes and styles, gathered together to discuss one thing we all love, MOVIES (oh, and TV SHOWS, too). While independent of the company Netflix, most of us are members and are happy to share information regarding the site. Here you have the opportunity to:
+ ask the difficult questions (about movies, the Netflix website, etc.);
+ surf forums (to discuss movies or whatever);
+ create your own home page;

Besides an open topic forum, we have a section labeled Groups which caters to more specific interests in genres, directors, trivia and general movie fun. Some you may like, some you may not, but we encourage you to look around and find what works for you.

LG BD300 Netflix Streaming Blu-Ray Player Available Late September for $399

Gizmodo reports that the LG BD300 Blu-ray player with Netflix movie streaming will be available around the end of September for $399. Some added BD300 specs: Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding USB Media Plus - MP3, JPEG, etc. BD-Live and BonusView Full 1080p output including DVD upconverting Netflix current content: 12,000 movies and TV shows streaming Are you planning on purchasing a Netflix-enabled device? Netflix CFO To Speak at BOA Investment Conference

Netflix CFO Barry McCarthy will speak at the Bank of America investment conference on September 15th at 11am ET. Anyone can listen to the webcast online at http://ir.netflix.com.

Netflix Has 29% of Online Book/Music/Video Retail Market

Internet Retailer reports that Netflix has 29% of the books/music/video retailing space, Top 500 books, music and video retailers log higher sales in 2007. Netflix and Blockbuster accounted for the most web sales among online books/music/video retailers ranked in the current Top 500. But other retailers also are moving into more digital forms of entertainment. The third largest company in the category was BarnesandNoble.com with 2007 web sales of $477 million, followed by Scholastic Inc.
