Three......Extremes - Questions

I just watched this movie last night and have a few questions..........
Dumpling-Do you think she was eating her own abortion during the last scene?
Cut-Was the woman at the piano his lover and his wife was somewhere else in the room off camera?
Box-This one was tricky for me. What the hell was this movie about? Was it about Siamese twins, each having nightmares/fantasies about being separate and killing the other one? Was it about twin sisters, each hating one another where one dreams about the other being buried alive for killing her and the other having a nightmare about them being Siamese? Was the man their father? Did the one sister actually accidentally kill her twin in that fire and have nightmares that she would be buried alive as punishment/guilt? Also, in the last shot, it looked like one was 25 and the other was 10 (or did I just imagine that)? Here's my guess: they are Siamese twins who work for that man as a sideshow. The jealous one dreams about them being twin ballerinas and killing the other one and feeling guilty about it causes her to dream she is buried alive. The other one who is not the jealous one dreams that they are twin ballerinas, her being the favored one , telling her twin she loves her and all she has to do is try harder.
Maybe I'm dense or over analyzing, but I'd like to hear other points of view.........

Dumplings - Yes I think she ate her own at the end.
Cut - No I still think the woman at the piano is/was his wife.
Box is about Siamese twins but I believe the man is their father and he was having favors with the favored one and the other one was jealous? I think the favored one wanted to separate or kill the other one and I think at the end the smaller one was deformed, not a child necessarily. I do think they both wanted to kill or separate from each other. I haven't watched Three Extremes for quite some time now but used to watch it alot when I first discovered it but I'm going by failing memory. This is solely my take on my failing memory so it still may not be completely right.

Double edged sword there... but thanks for the heads up on a film i haven't seen and now want too, inkslinger!

It's a great all around intro to extreme Asian, Phat. Dumplings is really good.

Sweet... queues kind long, so i'll probably have forgotten all about it by the time it shows up!

that's the beauty of short term memory loss enhancers! ;-)

I'm in the same boat as Headcheese and agree, except on Cut. It's been quite a while, but as I recall the woman at the piano was the woman playing his wife in the film.

Once you read these, how about changing your post up top to say SPOILER! or, if you think you have enough of an answer, just delete the thread so that the movie isn't ruined for people who havent's seen it yet.

It's all good. This is one I've been meaning to get to for awhile, but it's just never made it to the top of my queue.

please read my apology....................
i still think the woman at the piano was his mistress............when he was apologizing at the end he told the guy he may as well cut the woman's hands off and he was looking in another direction when he apologized.................should have watched the beginning when they first show you the livibgroom - i have a feeling there was another woman there......

It's been a while since I watched this but I'll try...

"Dumplings" - I don't remember. I keep meaning to watch the full-length film but I haven't yet.

"Cut" - From what I recall, the woman at the piano was not his wife; that was an important twist later in the story; until then we (and the guy tormenting them) had assumed it was.

"Box" - This one is open to interpretation. I think that she accidentally killed her sister and now is forced to bear the burden, either metaphorically or literally (depending on how subjective you think that shot of her at the end is), on her shoulders.
