Your Feature Wishlist

What do you still want to see on the Netflix site? (Let's leave out the obvious few since we know about them and know how much you want them: >500 things in queue, 1/2 stars, mac-based instant watching, linux support, 7-day shipping, etc.)

What ELSE?

It'd be nice if there was an "Already seen" button that would take that movie out of your recommendations. I'm aware that you can rate movies and then have them taken off your recommendations, but I would prefer not to do that. I would use the "Not Interested," button but that would mess up recommendations based on those movies.

get rid of the "other movies you might like" pop-up.

I'd vote against that one. We're going to get the screen anyway to confirm queueing and I've found some great movies that way.

no please -- love that!

I would like to see NF offer more and better-quality titles in their Special Interest section. Every topic in there could use improvement. And also in their classical music section.

Are there DVD releases in these areas that Netflix isn't picking up as they come out?

Can you give some examples, and who publishes them?

Thanks
Adrian from Netflix

Thanks for asking Adrian. In the cooking section, I only see one video rated close to three stars on Vegetarian Cooking.
I'd like to recommend the following videos. The distributor that I know that carries all of them is the The Kushi Store, PO Box 500, Becket, MA 01223-0500.
Their phone is 1-800-645-8744 (talk to Matthew ideally)

(1) Macrobiotic Cooking with Wendy Esko
(2) Macrobiotic Cooking for the Whole Family.
For the Healthy Living section:
(1) Energize Yourself with Do-In Self Massage=also from the Kushi Store.
I research other titles and reply to you again. Gordon

Yeah I have one thing on my wish list, similar to a post I read above.

If the version of a movie on Instant Watch is different than the version that's available for rent on DVD by Netfix could we be told that?

ie. I watched Return to House on Haunted Hill on IW and after reading about it on imdb.com I realized the version on IW was the "R-rated" version while the DVD available for rent was Unrated. If I had known that I would have not watched it on IW and just put this particular movie in my DVD queue to rent.

Two tools to help me find good movies to watch on instant watch:

1. Let me see the subset of my existing recommendations that are on instant watch (IW could be treated like a genre)

2. Let me apply multiple conditions to the existing IW lists; basically, I want to be able to take the existing Sort-by-Star-Rating list and tell it to NOT / minus TV-shows and documentaries because those are the VAST majority of the well-rated results I get, but I want to quickly be able to find movies that fellow raters have rated well

Maybe these are already possible, and I'm just missing them (if so, someone please tell me how to do it haha), but if they haven't been built yet, it seems like doing at least one would be a relatively easy project compared to the HUGE gains in Instant Watch usability.

Hi all. I've always run into the "You can't have more than 50 friends" message and so has every member I know. No discussion in notes or the community site (that I'm aware of) has ever said different. Now due to a glitch I call Support and am told (confirmed several times on further questioning from me) that there has never been a 50-friend limit so long as the other person adds a 50-friend member first. Wow! Way to keep that secret from even the power users!

So this is true? I just wanted to get the word out. Is it just me (and dozens of power users) or has everyone been tightlipped about this?

How do I add the right DVD of Jane Eyre to my top favorite list? Every time I try to add it I get the Orson Welles version only, not the Timothy Dalton one.

The best way to do this is to go to the movie page here. On the left hand column towards the bottom you'll see a link that says "+ Add To Top 10 List". Click on that link and select the list you want to add it to.
