Seriously, I've seen too many movies use the "aww, that's so cute" moment, when the cast are all standing around with their heads slightly tilted, small smiles all around, touching the hands of those nearest them, and watching in awe a prodigy child cuddling something miraculous (but usually not over cuddly looking). Guaranteed star-dropper moment. I've given good ratings to the early ones I've seen, but not so any more.

It's not the moment I object to, but the revelation to everyone else and having to watch their "I can't believe it" reaction. Seen too many times.

How bout the lawyer who must and by all means defy the judge and at the last minute save the accused by either bringing a surprise witness, a overlooked document or a retraction from the acuser! right! like that really happens in the real world!

there are so many, specially in romantic comedies they all repeat the same thing. Young pretty defenseless anbitious waitress/maid/single mom/teacher (read JLo, or jennifer aniston saved/rescued/enamored/taken away from brooklyn to a life of Riches/Fantasy/Happiness. RIGHT!!

Ok, I think a better question would be, what HASNT been cliched to death in the movies?????

Even when I was little, I had seen so many movies, that I about the age of 8, I could tell you who was going to say what, what they would be doing, and if it was a murder mystery, who did it and why.

Rehashed hash, to the "Nth" degree

How about "Westerns"?
Tell me one John Wayne western that did not have him get the bad guy and have all the ladies happy with his..performance...hehe
And as far as TV shows go, one that I love that is on watch instantly. DRAGNET The way Joe Friday and his sidekick always look at each other and nod with a small smirk is so copied in some later action movies. One thing they did that was unique was that wooden walk and stance with their shoulder strait and their arms at their sides. Looks like a Marine soldier stance except for standing at attention..lol

Sometimes I think Mamet idolizes Jack Webb. Heh.

It's been a long time since I've watched it, but doesn't The Shootist end a bit unconventionely for a Wayne flick.

Little creepy girls with weird hair has gotten old
The shock ending is old because we're expecting it now
The annoying black cat false scare. You just know someones going to bite the dust afterwards.

I agree with this one. The horror movie sentinel cat! Let's you know when you're supposed to be scared.

I'm tired of the Asian horror movies with skinny chicks with long black wet hair and double joints crawling up stairs or up walls. Enough of that. It got old for me after the second time I saw it.

That's a bit like saying vampires or werewolves are old and tired...well...maybe they are...but the point is that vengeful ghosts are a part of the culture, and it's not that the films are being repetitive, it's just that they are drawing from the same mythology.
