Series missing discs

Ok, does anyone know what's up with Netflix not having discs in what feels like a ton of series (11 on my queue alone)? They're clearly available and while Netflix definitely has problems with other films that are widely available (and apparently were available at Netflix in the past) they seem to really have problems with anime.

I mean, not just series either, but Vampire Hunter D and Perfect Blue are both MIA as well (though, at least Perfect Blue is available for instant watching if you can tolerate the dub).

I appreciate the suggestion Red, but shipping from Florida sounds like a major head ache. It's cool, I'm very resourceful.

Netflix seems to have this problem with other films as well, not just anime. I think it's often an issue of how often something rents and how much it would cost to replace that drives their decisions. Of course, part of the problem is that since they can't rent it anymore the numbers go down so I think that would just make it spiral down.

Still, it's not just anime. I can't find a copy of the original foreign version of the Vanishing which even before wasn't the good Criterion release. The indie film American Astronaut just went off my list as well having been on "very long wait" for a while and looks like it won't be replaced either.

The thing that makes it so notable to anime is that we're dealing with an entire series now rendered unusable by one missing disc and the large number of notable series that have fallen prey to this.

I've also noticed that a number of anime titles have suddenly started showing waits, some of them have gone to long waits too. It might be a side effect of college students coming home for the year and using their parent's queues or something else, but if there's something you want this might be the time to try and get it.

Yes the best bet at this time would seem to put all your Anime series that you want to see to the top of your queue or you can do what idid start another account or another thing spilt your queue if you get more then one disc at a time I did this also but for other reasons now I have sole use of my extra queue.

my Q's been goin nowhere fast, so I'm about to reorder it. anime's going straight to the top. also just switched to 5 @ a time to try to plow through the series even faster. so sad to feel rushed because if you don't get it now it could be gone 2moro.

...well I don't want to sound like a jerk, but part of the problem is too that people just destroy the discs, and they just get scratched up so bad that they will not play anymore. That’s happened to me a few times where I had to send the disc back and get a replacement. And you have to realize that too a lot of anime is no longer in production and they can’t get replacements anymore. For example Geneon shut down so everything they had the rights to before is now no longer available.

Yes that will be a problem that we have no control over other then to ask menbers of or group to take care of the discs we get. As for Geneon closing there is allway hope that someone will take it over well some hope anyway
