The Omnipotent Mr. Tinkles

Why did you pick NetFlix?

Did a friend recommend it? Did you run across it online? Tv ad?

How do you like it?

I had to stop visiting the local video store at the time-HUGE late fees! I've had to stop Netflix a couple times for lack of funds, and that makes me not happy. Gee, it's been so long ago now, but I'm pretty sure I read about it online somewhere. I recommend Netflix to everyone. I LOVE IT!

I dont even watch regular tv or cable anymore. I watch all my fav things thru NF and the library.

Ive had to "stall" NF a few times cause I didnt have the money.....thats when I discovered the library. Almost as good as NF!

If I had the money, Id pay to have all my friends on NF for a couple years.

I originally joined Blockbuster online because of the store returns. Then I found out that the Blockbuster store had closed in my town! Not surprising since they were more expensive then the local town rental place. So, I couldn't take advantage of the store exchange and Blockbuster had horrible customer service. They had four movies with the same name (Premonition), and kept repeatedly sending me one of two wrong versions, I wanted the other two. I'd return a cracked disc for replacement and they'd sent the same one right back. Those are just two examples of bad customer service issues, and bear in mind I'd repeatedly informed them of the problems but they wouldn't make it right. So after about a year of crappy service I finally said enough and switched to Netflix. I like Netflix a whole lot better. I've had some longer waits for new releases, but over all a much better experience then Blockbuster.

An ad for a free 30-day trial came with my new dvd player. It was one of those really cheap players from RadioShack and I thought for sure the Netflix ad was some sort of a scam, but the large video store around the corner was replaced with a tiny BlockBuster (and half of their stock were used DVDs for sale) so I thought I'd give Netflix a shot. I've been pretty happy with their service and selection (member since December '03).

I was tired of the whole video store thing so I looked into Netflix. When I saw the wide selection of foreign and "nonmainstream" films, which is where most of my interests lie, I was hooked right away. It's been a candy store ever since. And I don't even have to go anywhere!

The gf would always insist on renting a movie every other night from BB, the guy said we should sign up for the online plan, I tried to, site was buggy as hell n I just wasn't impressed anyway. One of my friends at the time was already using NF. Said he used BB before NF, n NF was by far the more superior of the 2. So here I are.

I wanted to go through the Oz series and the Hurcules and Xena series and my local video store didn't have any of them.

I got a free trial a while back and I loved it so I have had it ever since. I work in a video store and I get free rentals so it doesn't make much sense but I just love Netflix!

Several reasons...

-I was ready to burn my closest BB to the ground.
-No late fees. We had returned movies unwatched to avoid late fees when life got hectic.
-Despise the movie theater.
-Coworker told us about free trial.
-Then I found their anime section <3 at first sight.

I can’t stand movie theaters either. There are many reasons but the smell of them really gets to me. Even the new theaters always smell like feet and stale popcorn.

I was fed up with Blockbuster's DVD's, it seemed every time I went to the brick and mortar store, I got a scratched DVD that was unplayable. It was a pain to return to the store and get another one. I kind of just stayed away from movies for a while, only catching them while visiting friends, etc.

I had seen the ads, but I was worried about getting scratched dvds all the time. Then I noticed my brother was using them and I inquired about the service. I decided to give them a shot and have been very happy since I started using them. I've only had a couple of scratched dvds where I couldn't watch the whole movie after using them for 1 & 3/4 of a year so far. Only once did I get the wrong dvd and again, only once did I simply not get the dvd I rented. I'm not in a huge hurry to see any particular one, so it doesn't bother me to report the problem and get a replacement in a couple of days.
