Profiles going away!?

Did everyone else get this e-mail from Netflix:

" We wanted to let you know we will be eliminating Profiles, the feature that allowed you to set up separate DVD Queues under one account, effective September 1, 2008."

Why?

"While it may be disappointing to see Profiles go away, this change will help us continue to improve the Netflix website for all our customers."

Okay, how does Profiles going away improve Netflix? Am I the only one in household with multiple people each of whom want a different queue for tracking, rating, reviews, etc. Furthermore, according to the FAQ, there's no way to even transfer a Profile to a new separate account. So that means if you spent time rating tons of movies under one profile, all of that is lost! This seems like a huge disruption of service. In what way is this good? And there's not even any way I can see to match the equivalent functionality once they go away.

This to me is a huge negative change to the service for no visible reason.

I care more about things that have a direct impact on what I do (and have to do) every day.
I may be reading something unintended into this statement, but if I'm correct, I hear you as stating that not having to tend to your Netflix queue so often is more important to you than which officials are elected into offices across the Country.

If that's the case, then I've got a new platform proposal I'm going to pitch to Obama or McCain.

That's basically correct. Republicans vs. Democrats is no choice if you ask me. They both suck.

I'm a Libertarian. I vote for Libertarians, and have since I started voting (in the 80s). It does little good, and won't for a long time, if it ever does.

I would rather have McCain than Obama, but if it doesn't look close on either side come election day, I may well vote for Barr.
Yeah, I should have quoted the part that Spindaddydad did.

Now I understand why you're posting here as well.
Where were you people when we invaded Iraq for oil?

That HAS to be the most RIDICULOUS and ASININE retort I've come across. Trying to compare the "non-affecting to the majority of the planet" Netflix carnage with a full fledged real life war.

Not to mention a lot protested the war but Bush has always had his own agenda. And face it, NO politician has worked for the American people in many years.

Not really buddy, if this many people are this vocal and upset over something this trivial then we should have stopped the war monger from putting our soldiers in harms way.

But I guess since most of you never have to look at a family member wounded in the Iraq war it doesn't mean anything to you.
