What movies would you suggest as movies that promote Diversity? Definition of Diversity: The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along
the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs,
political beliefs, or other ideologies. It is the exploration
of these differences in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.
It is about understanding each other and moving beyond
simple tolerance to embracing and celebrating the
rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual.

Prom Queen is a good example. Great movie~!

Yes, yes! You are so lovely for seeking out such things. Of course I'm completely blanking now... but you know, oddly enough, I tend to see that message of acceptance far more in children's movies than in adult ones, which is probably why I often prefer them. Most of the movies I own aren't like specifically that, but they generally do contain accepting, compassionate characters. Like Chocolat, that one's amazing. And, erm, if it's not too embarrassing for you, the American Girl films are fairy prevailent with that message as well. I'm not sure if that's quite what you were looking for, but mm, hope that helps.

This may be the lamest answer you will get, but I like Driving Miss Daisy.

FYI, if you feel something wet, just ignore it...that would be the XPers pelting me with monkey poo for admitting I like that movie.

I loved Riding Miss Daisy. But what does that have to do with diversity?

Babe is another example of a Diversity movie. Babe proved that being a pig didn't keep him/her (what was it besides a pig??) from just grovelling in the mud.

It's a Boy/Girl thing is another.

A day without a Mexican explores the US (California in particular) without hispanic help. (who would cut our lawns, serve our food, etc). Something to think about.

I absolutely LOOOOOOOOOVE Driving Miss Daisy.

A Little Princess is one of my faves (I love the movie, but the book is infinately better!), and I just saw Journey of Natty Gann. Twas lovely.
