When Save movies become Add or IW movies (or not)

Updating my Saved movie lists, I find that in the last 10 days:

(1) American Stag, The Batman: Season 1, Murder-Set-Pieces, Blade Runner: Theatrical Version, Super Fuzz have become Unavailable (see my Unavailables list).

(2) Vendetta, Cannibal!: The Musical, Sealed With A Kiss have become Instant-Watch.

(3) Netflix has placed the following titles in stock:

Deadbeat at Dawn, Hana from Action Saved (now 54)
[nothing] from Animation Saved (still 35)
Trouble in Store from Classics Saved (now 180)
[nothing] from Comedy Saved (now 69)
[nothing] from Documentaries Saved (now 137)
Firetrap from Drama Saved (now 118)
[nothing] from Family Saved (now 71)
Love on the Run, Stolen Kisses from Foreign Saved (now 285)
[nothing] from Horror Saved (now 86)
Short Order, Duck from Independent Saved (now 31)
[nothing] from Music Saved (still 39)
[nothing] from Romance Saved (still 33)
[nothing] from Sci-Fi Saved (now 27)
Enigma (1983) and Body Chemistry II from Thrillers Saved (now 44)
Carver from TV Saved (now 59)

Blade Runner: Theatrical Version is gone,
but can be replaced by the two in one:
Blade Runner: Theatrical and Director's Cut

Kudos to Replicant Rachel.

And strangely enough, I have the theatrical cut listed in my queue even though there is no theatrical cut listed on the site, only the Theatrical and Director's cut. And why is the Theatrical cut listed as a series?

It was formerly available (I rated it when I joined). There are sometime miscategorizations right after a new or changed listing. You could submit a Movie Correction. There were many problems with the Sundance Shorts when they were split up into individual IWs and the collections were made Unavailable,

ah, the saga of the re-release. which is, by the way, wonderful and amazing. go figure, I have the briefcase collection.

to answer the question as to why the Theatrical Cut shows individually, it is because it is available on IW, so will show in your Instant Queue by itself. To rent it on disc, you have to get the two-fer. I am assuming it shows as a series disc because it is a sub-set of the disc version, or because it is part of the 5-disc box set.

It took a while for Netflix to sort out what to call each disc in the set, eventually landing on the current arrangement. For a title with a similar oddity, check out the re-release of The Last Emperor. Two of the discs aren't even related to the film.

and yes, if anyone was wondering, I am hopelessly obsessed with this movie.

I didn't mention the history of the pair's availability or this alternative. Thanks for pitching in.

Thanks, it's been a busy week, I haven't gotten to checking my Unavailables list yet. I'll do it this weekend and post here.

My Unavailables list (down to 266 from 296) has yielded a passle of Add and Saved movies:

Abnormal: The Sinema of Nick Zedd (2002) - Add
A Chronicle of Corpses (2000) - Add
Bar-B-Q / Beverly Hood: Double Feature (1999) - Add
Blood of the Beast (2003) - Add
Creepers (1985) - Add [Horror]
Beastie Boys: Video Anthology (2-Disc Series) (2000) - Add
The Strange Faces of Japanese Cinema (2-Disc Series) (2001) - Add [Foreign]
Shogun Assassin 3: Slashing Blades of Carnage (1972) - Add
Death Factory (2002) - Add
Instinct to Kill (2001) - Add
Best Man in Grass Creek (2001) - Add
Bonanza (5-Disc Series) (1959) - Add
The Asylum (2000) - Add
Reindeer Games (2000) - Add [FINALLY!]
Bear in the Big Blue House: Sleepy Time (1998) - Add
No Tomorrow (1998) - Add
Bloodstone (1988) - Save
My Kingdom (2002) - Add
Impact: The Passion of the Christ: Disc 1 (2005) - Add
Tigger & Pooh: Super Sleuth Christmas Movie (2007) - Add
Faces (1968) - Save
Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (1985) - Add
Opening Night (1977) - Save
A Woman Under the Influence (1974) - Save [FINALLY!]
The Brandon Teena Story (1998) - Add
Mr. India (1987) - Add
Billy Liar (1963) - Add [FINALLY!]
Flywheel (2003) - Add [FINALLY!]
Hollywood Vampyr (2002) - Add
Shadows (1959) - Add [Classics]

Speaking for myself, I've only queued or pre-queued a few titles (for example, [Horror]) since most seem to be sub-B movies for which reviewers specifically state "There's a reason why this movie is and should remain unavailable." On a plus note, I am now able to edit lists as large as 296 movies -- your mileage may vary but being able to tweak our larger lists is much better than leaving them to moulder as is! (And remember, you can only delete one movie from your lists between saves or you'll lose more movies than you intended.)

Looks like they also removed Vincent Price: The Sinister Image from my queue to saved, and have it only as a Play now. They removed Batman: Season One? That sucks

Thanks. I'll try to catch up the list once a week or so as my schedule allows.

I noticed that on my "Watch Instantly" list there are 4 movies that are no longer available for instant viewing any longer; they are:

How to Steal a Million
Moby Dick
The Big Country
The Exorcist

Oops, sorry for the misunderstanding and thank you for the explanation.
