Best Detective's television or movies?

I'm a big fan of mysteries, and always looking for new shows. What are your favorites? Mine are 1. The last Detective 2. Touch of Frost 3. Inspector Morse 4. Streets of San Fransisco. 5. Colombo 6. The Thin Man( movie series)

But be warned, it's NECESSARY to watch them in order, because there are a few episodes that just won't be enjoyable if you haven't seen what's come before. Permalink Reply by David on March 14, 2008 at 9:58am: I would recommend the old 1940s Sherlock Holmes movies starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. They are classic, black/white detective movies but I really enjoyed them.
