Wow, this is a good thread. I've watched most of the films referenced above. The Exorcist, Shining, ' Two Sisters, Cujo really created long evenings for me. I mean really, when you start walking around the house for days carrying your "ward off demons" weapon of choice and lay in your bed at night over analyzing every creak and appliance sound you hear..... well, I'd say the movie got a little into your head. Come on Chad, be real, what's your little ole steak knife going to do against that demon in your house. Gotta love films but really it's not my favorite genre. =(:-0

The Shining--The Excorcist and a little known ghost story/mystery w/ george C. Scott called The Changeling. I heard that they're going to re-make it. NOT happy about that............................

I think this is a traditional "scary movie" forum--not some left-wing propaganda garbage................keep the politics out of it, and to yourself

So that the lack of a sense of humor doesn't kill an excellent thread>.>

I'd have to go with the usuals, Exorcist, The Changeling and The Shining still freak me out, probably because I was young and freaked out when I first saw them and not so blase as I am now. Psycho also made me wipe the soap out of my eyes 20 times per shower when I was younger.

The Entity also creeped me out. I think it was mostly because the woman was sexually assaulted by the being and there was really nothing she could do about it. Overall, it's kind of a crappy film, but it definitely made me a little wierded out.

In the last few years it's been more of a scenes thing with, mostly, Asian horror.

Ummm I would have to say that the scariest movie I have ever seen would have to be "The Ring" or maybe "Pet Cemetary" although I cant watch "The Exorcist" alone I get the hebie jebies!
