Recommend your favorite Forgotten Film.

My queue is full of new releases right now and I'm looking for some older gems. Recommend a film or films made between 1970 and 2000 that you love but most everyone you know hasn't seen. The only rule is that it should be available from Netflix for rent.

How about The Triplets of Belleville - - I'm not a big fan of animated films, but this was off-beat and fascinating to watch, although it does have almost 300k reviews so I guess not forgotten at all. And if you have any interest in documentaries, how about Brother's Keeper or Troublesome Creek: A Midwestern (under 3k ratings), both gripping rural-America dramas that everyone should watch.

And one more - Wrestling Ernest Hemingway with Robert Duvall, Richard Harris, Shirley McClaine, and pre-Speed Sandra Bullock - but is inexplicably not listed on Netflix??? Great film about the loneliness of aging.; ▶ Reply to This

Also the pairing of director Alan J Pakula with cinematographer Gordon Willis produced some amazing films in the 70s:
