Horror Fans - Could you take out your nearest and dearest if they became zombies?

This is one of those questions that keep me up at night. Yeah, I should stop watching Romero so much, but if you really get involved in a movie and put yourself into the shoes of the characters (be it empathetically or just wild imagination "what would I do" style) it's something that comes up. Particularly, I think, with horror. We all wonder would we go up the stairs? Could we be gutsy enough to take on the axe murderer to save our spouse/friend/generic stranger off of the street?

So, if the zombie wars came and your loved ones/friends/neighbors turned into brain seeking monsters, could you take them out? Even knowing that the person you once cared for isn't in there any more, could you do it? Would you rather let them turn you into one knowing you'd go on to kill others? Would you take yourself out first so that you couldn't be zombified?

By the way, I just mean this to be fun. I know it's an odd question, but look at it as a little creative exercise.

Cause when i watch horror movies in my head im always thinking about stuff like that. im like "no you retard! Do go that way go the other way!" "now why the hell you want to run up the stairs when the door was actually open and you could have had time to run out!" or "Lord stop your screaming and actually fight back or do soemthing!"
