Broken Rentals

Broken rentals are one of my pet peeves. I haven't received any broken rentals from GreenCine. I attribute the fact to GreenCine's padded envelopes. I was disappointed when GreenCine did away with them. The only problem I've had with GreenCine so far is missing rentals although I know it's only a matter of time before a broken GreenCine DVD arrives in the mail.

I've received 53 broken rentals (32 Netflix, 21 Blockbuster Online). You can't imagine how aggravating and frustrating my experience has been. I've just learned to accept it: It's part of the online rental experience. In 2006, Netflix claimed one of their rentals is used 20 some times before it "cracks, gets lost or stolen." It seems I was always Netflix's 20th customer.

Just looking for a place for a hyper-neurotic wailllllll........ ah that feels better. Each time a movie is lost on it's way to me, arrives cracked or doesn't get back to the center it triggers all those stupid neurotic feelings....

Standing on the desk and screaming - no I didn't decide to keep it, not I didn't break it, no no no - it wasn't me!!!

Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale. Out of the last five movies exchanged, one is missing on the way back, one arrived cracked and one never arrived. I would say maybe 35-45% of Netflix transactions are challenged. Not blaming them, but this is driving me crazy and as my hubby says - it ain't a long trip to crazy for me :)

Thank you for the soap box - returning to the land of sane if I can remember the way.

Our distribution center is Albuquerque - need I say more. Maybe we need to move to Tenessee as well - lol. Our personal customers in the great lakes area always ask for super solid packaging as postal service up there is suppose to be like a war zone.

A broken rental isn't fun especially if you anticipated its arrival. I thought Netflix's streaming video was the solution except Netflix seldom streams DVDs I rent.

Wouldn't it be great if we could exchange our broken Netflix DVDs for replacements at our local video store instead of waiting on snail mail?

Unfortunately streaming anime will be at the bottom of Netflix's list, Manuel...... in a perfect world all the companies would issue rights to watch now so that we can watch what we want. Maybe someday.

You can if you sign up with Blockbuster.

Welcome! Short of sounding like a broken record, have you called Netflix to report these recurring problems? Actually I would do two things.

1st) I'd file a complaint with my local postmaster that 1.) They are not handling the mail careful enough (breakage of DVDs is related to their sorting machines), 2. & 3.), movies have gone missing (possibly a carrier or other postal employee in the chain is taking them).

2nd) Call Netflix Customer Support and report the recurring issue, suggest they initiate a postal complaint, investigation on their end.

If the problem doesn't get better there is always the US Postal Inspections Office to file an official complaint with, these guys don't fool around and must report all incidents to postmaster general. If you ever use this make sure to include the fact that you contacted the local postmaster (including incident ID#) and any/ all responses given.

yes,
call local postmaster and the top honcho 800 government number.
and you need to TRACK and have 3 legit seperate instances w/ in 90 days all having either 6 or more days missing or total breakage.
that's the only way post office will take a complaint from nf.
