Releasing This Week page broken.... sigh

I have a fairly relaxed attitude towards renting from Netflix If it is a new release that I am not terribly passionate about I put it at the bottom of my queue and move it up when I am in the mood, but I have it there to know it is available. If I really want to see it I put it in queue and towards the top of my list, or at the top, but populate behind it with movies that are listed as available and I wouldn't mind as an alternative, so I am not disappointed. At least once a week I get a happy surprise in my mail box and I am good.

I have a nice Sunday Morning routine. I sleep in. I put on the TV or a DVD (if what is on TV sucks). I make myself some breakfast and a nice cup of coffee. Then I log-in to Netflix and look at the Releasing this week page. When it went away before I spent weeks talking to customer service and being told a) that with enough complaints it will come back, or b) tough shit, only 10% of all users ever used that page so stop crying and get used to us telling you how to look at new releases. Eventually I was told about the hidden link and have been happy ever since. This morning I clicked on the link and it is still last week's list.

At first I was pissed, but with their recent issues, maybe it is just delayed. At best, maybe there will be a note on the forum pages. I come here, there is nothing. If there is a problem, why won't they tell us. If they are going to discontinue it, why don't they tell us. And which one of you people who unflaggingly support the removal of the Releasing This Week for the certifiably ignorant and unhelpful New Release page are actually Netflix plants come to tote the company's propoganda? Until recently I had never heard that their decision was for our best interest to make sure we had better access to new releases by making them harder to know about, thereby lessening their renting. Is that the new Netflix party like, Sieg Heil?

I joined the community today after reading David's post.... I left a comment beacuse I too am annoyed w/ NF. Your comment about hitting their bottom line...They don't give a crap about their customers, and I really don't need them! And I'm sure there are more people than me and Tony (by the way I DON'T HIM) who have similar issues. And to Tony your right he is a dumbass!

David, your posts would have a lot more credibility if you weren't a moron. Just a little constructive criticism from a fan. Other than that, keep up the good work.

That was a cold one, ColdOne... and completely lame. If we pay dues to use Netflix, then we should have the right to complain about the idiots that design the site screwing it up. When I talk to Customer Service and half the time I am told that my opinion doesn't matter and I should just live with asinine changes and substandard service, I feel it is my right to rage against the machine... and to start an open revolt with the help of fellow members who are likewise fed up. If you are used to being a lemming and following the misguided crowd, if you are willing to settle for inadequacy, that is your right. But don't say that I am a moron for being smart enough to smell their shit and admit that it is not Chanel.

And once again your ignorance is shining. You (or your buddy David) responded to ColdOne when he said "But don't say that I am a moron", he was not responding to me.

I would never call someone a moron. Even though I hold those who play childish games in public forums in contempt.

"And your resorting to name calling only confirms that you are playing at childish games..."

um, didn't you just call me ignorant???

"Even though I hold those who play childish games in public forums in contempt."

i agree...so can we get back on the topic of the forum, instead of whether or not i know david? in which case, i don't know him, but i do tend to agree with him...

You're not a moron just for complaining, but the content of your complaint and your attitude makes that pretty clear.

So feel free to have your little useless rant and start your petty revolution (again). It's not going to make the slightest difference in how Netflix conducts its business, but if it makes you feel good ...

When I talk to Customer Service and half the time I am told that my opinion doesn't matter and I should just live with [it]

and the other half of the time they lie to you. Honestly, which do you actually prefer?

I had the same problem with the Releasing this week feature. I called the customer service number and they told me that they would send a e-mail to the people in charge. I asked them it they had any idea when it would be up and running, they said no.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience. This is a bug, not intentional. We haven't figured out what broke yet, so can't say when it will get fixed, but its being looked at. The RSS feed does seem to have the right movies listed today.
