Cannibal Holocaust Remake

That's right, they're remaking Cannibal Holocaust. The purpose of this discussion is to determine who "they" are, and hear what everyone thinks about this development. As a fan of the original, i see how this can be an asset to, or a blemish on, the gore genre. If anyone knows any details about this that i couldn't find on imdb, please share them.

Here's a link to an article. Link It seems there is no denying it will happen. The question is, will it benefit the older title in that it ends up being good and making those people wo liked it curious to see the original. Or will it end up being toned down and tamed for a pc crowd?

i just dont think it will be as raw as the original. It might help get new fans of the original though as they will probably seek it out after they see the redux. I have the same worries about last house on the left, especially since it is one of my favorite films, but I guess I shall see.

wow, i had no idea they were remaking last house on the left, that sounds horrible. i'll see it too, though. do you know if wes craven's directing? he's gotta be, right? does anyone know if deodato's doing the holocaust remake?

Last House on the Left is a definite remake coming down the pike. Believe it or not the girl from Aquamarine is in it, Sara Paxton. Talk about a departure. Somebody has still for it already, at least of the cast. I'll look around and post a link to them here when I find them again.

Deodato is doing the Holocaust remake I believe but Craven is not remaking Last House. It's somebody else.

LHOTL already had a remake: Chaos

dont remind me, but this remake is written and produced by craven. chaos had no connections to last house other than being a souless ripoff.

yeah, I guess overall I didn't like Chaos (I think I gave it 2 stars). However, I did appreciate the makers' enthusiasm for the grimier side of 70s exploitation as opposed to all the flashy MTV style remakes that are more typical of remakes. While the director comes off like a total ass, he and his crew were technically skilled enough to pull off some pretty disturbing scenes....being pretty jaded, I did think it worked to some degree and that is worth something in my book

Do you know who is directing?? I'm pretty certain someone else is directing Last House Remake. Anyone else find it hilarious that Sara Paxton is doing this movie? What are the implications of that I wonder?

I dont remeber the director but i found this link that tells you about it.
