Is it not available or just a very long wait?

I currently have three movies at the top of my queue that are listed as Very Long Waits, but sometimes when I check on them, they are listed as not available, and other times back to very long waits - very frustating. I recently queued two new arrivals, and after sitting a couple of months in the top of my queue as Very Long Waits became Not Availables and were deleted from my queue.

What are the titles?

I bet we can give you some insight based on what they are.

The three titles still sitting in my queue as Very long waits / unavailable are: Mr Vampire 3, Terror Within, and Death Factory.

The two new arrivals that went from Very long wait to unavailable to delete (not even saved) were The Hood have Eyez, and The Twisted Horror of Joanna Angel (but I can guess why they've been deleted.).

The Hood have Eyez, and The Twisted Horror of Joanna Angel

These have been removed from the system due to content I believe. Not 100% sure on that but, I'm guessing that's the case.

Blade Runner: The Final Cut went "unavailable" for a few weeks, but then became available, more or less out of the blue. I have no idea what causes such a glitch.

I have been so annoyed by this that I had to make my first visit to the forum to see if anyone is having this problem. There is relief in knowing that I am not alone. I have been a subscriber for sometime and wonder what's going on. Do they just not have enough movies to go around, too many subscribers in comparison to their stock. Ultimately, I dig that they allow you to check out movies for as long as you want, I don't want to see an increase in price. I would just like to have the opportunity to see some of these movies......someday. That new Jessie James movie has been on the very long wait, long wait list for at least a month..........

Were they deleted from you queue completely, or were they moved back down into your Saved section?

From the Netflix FAQ:

Very Long Wait: This means that there is extremely high demand, limited availability and/or a very long wait for this title. Usually the wait is less than 30 days, but could be longer if, for example, the movie is out of print or we are otherwise unable to secure additional copies.

Unavailable: It simply means we’re temporarily out of that DVD. As soon as we get the title back in stock, we’ll promptly make it available. Even though our movie library is immense, demand for some DVDs sometimes exceeds supply. This is especially true with certain new releases and out-of-print titles.

Seems to be a lot of overlap in definitions - I've discovered titles in my queue as categorized as VLW that show up as Unvailable on the movie title Netflix page. I usually look to Blockbuster for Netflix VLW titles since Netflix probably isn't a good bet anytime in the near future....

Yeah, I have Mystic in Bali and Silip: Daughters of Eve on Long Wait. Up until yesterday, they were Very Long Wait.

Both of these are Mondo Macabro titles, so I figure they only have a handful of copies of each for the whole system. Hopefully one of these days, someone will realize they are using one of these as a coaster for their bong and will return it so that I can watch it (with my bong)

If you would just clean your bong occasionally people might come over (try Dawn, it cuts resin).
