At 7:57am on August 1st, 2008, Prahajess said…: Hmm. Lately I've been obsessed with certain actors, so perhaps I'll make some suggestions that way. Shreyas Talpade was in Dor, and he's excellent in Iqbal. I also liked him in Bombay to Bangkok, but it's not quite as good. Irrfan Khan is fabulous, and caught my attention in Life...in a Metro (dumb name, I know, but a sweet ensemble movie). Then, b/c I also like Arshad Warsi, I watched them together in Sunday (possibly called Missing Sunday). A comedy, which is getting easier for me to stand, since i think a lot of the comedy is lost in translation. But Arshad and Irrfan had me laughing out loud.
Did I already mention Manorama Six Feet Under? I liked that a lot. And Swades. An odd one that I just watched was Main, Meri Patri, aur Woh (or something like that).
If you let me know if you have any fave actors, I can recommend that way...
Some basics that you must see:
Dil Chahta Hai, Dil Se, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Main Hoon Na, Sarfarosh, Paheli, Kahbi Kushi Kahbi Gham (oh, nf might not have that one).
I tend to avoid drama/tragedy, so my favorites are usually light. Hope that helps!

When I saw The Darjeeling Lmt., there's a part when they are with an Indian family and I understood some of the Hindi! (I also listen to mostly Filmi music these days, now that I've gone over the edge into BW... :) )

Very happy to see you here. I added you as a friend sometime ago as you are a good guide to Bollywood.

We have enjoyed many Bollywoods and are always looking for better and better. So you are our guru to some extent.

We just saw Laaga (see my review) and liked it a lot but didn't rank it with the others which we loved, e.g. Bunty aur Babli, Taal, Umrao Jaan, etc.

Pls go to my NF site and add yourself as a NF "friend". Then I can see better the movies you are watching and will watch.
