001- The Mummy Returns

Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz return as the intrepid Egyptologists in this rousing sequel. This time they unearth a prehistoric relic capable of releasing cataclysmic forces and satanic warriors led by the sinister Scorpion King (pro wrestler Dwayne Johnson, aka "The Rock"). Meanwhile, evil mummy Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo), revived by his reincarnated paramour, schemes to snatch control of the Scorpion King's power from its unsuspecting sentinels.

002- Lonely Hearts

In this unnerving docudrama, John Travolta and James Gandolfini play homicide detectives assigned to pursue lovers Martha Beck (Salma Hayek) and Raymond Fernandez (Jared Leto) -- dubbed the "Lonely Hearts Killers." Luring unwary war widows and spinsters through personal ads in the late 1940s, the couple stripped respondents of their savings before slaying them in a sexually charged frenzy. The supporting cast includes Laura Dern and Scott Caan.

003- Cruising

After a serial killer brutally murders several gay men in New York's S&M and leather districts, cop Steve Burns (Al Pacino) goes undercover on the streets, where he must learn the complex rules of the underground gay subculture if he's to catch the psycho. Karen Allen co-stars as Burns's girlfriend in this gritty 1980 thriller, which sparked protests from gay rights groups at the time of its release but has since developed a minor cult status.

004- The Assignment

A dead ringer for international terrorist Carlos Sanchez (Aidan Quinn), U.S. Naval officer Annibal Ramirez (also Aidan Quinn) is mistakenly arrested in Israel in this fact-based thriller. Israeli operative Amos (Ben Kingsley) and CIA agent Henry Fields (Donald Sutherland) recruit Ramirez to impersonate Sanchez in a complex plot designed to ultimately bring about the terrorist's demise.

005- The King

After serving time in the Navy, 21-year-old Elvis (Gael Garcia Bernal) decides to look up the father (William Hurt) who abandoned him as a child, only to find him working as a small-town pastor with a new wife (Laura Harring) and two teenage children (Pell James and Paul Dano). While his father is unwilling to disrupt his life to reconcile with his son, Elvis refuses to be ignored, taking drastic measures to insert himself into the family.

006- The Marsh

Plagued by disturbing visions, children's author Claire Holloway (Gabrielle Anwar) obeys her doctor's orders and takes a sabbatical, checking into the Rose Marsh Farmhouse. But instead of peace, she finds her worst nightmares come to life, forcing her to seek the help of a paranormal consultant (Forest Whitaker). Directed by Jordan Barker, this supernatural thriller also stars Justin Louis, Niamh Wilson, Joe Dinicol and Brooke Johnson.

007- Long Life, Happiness & Prosperity

Determined to improve the romantic prospects of her lonely single mother, Kin Ho, quirky but well-meaning 12-year-old Mindy (Valerie Tian) resorts to Taoist magic to do the trick. But although the spells and potions seem to miss the mark, Kin finds her humdrum, unfulfilling life given a fresh spark from her daughter's good-intentioned charms. Reteaming with director Mina Shum (Double Happiness), Sandra Oh stars in this enchanting light comedy.

008- Paris, Je T'aime

A collection of five-minute films about the City of Lights brings Paris to life with a unique patchwork of 20 stories. Numerous writers, directors and actors lend their distinctive vision to the project, employing a wide variety of styles and subject matter. Participants include Gérard Depardieu, Gus Van Sant, Ethan Coen, Joel Coen, Wes Craven, Marianne Faithfull, Steve Buscemi, Juliette Binoche, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gena Rowlands and many others.

009- Frankie and Johnny

Divorced ex-con Johnny (Al Pacino) becomes a cook at a Manhattan café, where he falls in love with Frankie (Michelle Pfeiffer), a beautiful waitress with a painful past. Despite the fact that she wants nothing to do with him, Johnny does everything he can to win Frankie's heart. Based on a play by Terrence McNally, director Garry Marshall's touching romantic comedy co-stars Hector Elizondo, Kate Nelligan and Nathan Lane.

010- The Ultimate Gift

When his wealthy grandfather (James Garner) finally dies, Jason Stevens (Drew Fuller) fully expects to benefit when it comes to the reading of the will. But instead of a sizable inheritance, Jason receives a test, a series of tasks he must complete before he can get any money. Oscar nominee Abigail Breslin and former beauty queen Lee Meriwether also star in this coming-of-age drama based on the novel by Jim Stovall.

I like the Notes feature, too, if it doesn't get out of hand. Honestly, I think some people watch about six movies a day, every day, based on the number of Notes they write. It's incredible! I only write Notes on the current movies I'm watching and then only send them to people who I think might like the movie, or who have seen it and might want to compare ratings. I'll mark your reviews helpful, too, as I know they are ALWAYS helpful! Have a good work week!

Hi SAG! I accepted your open Friends Invite on NF. Hope that was okay. I believe we're 66% alike, per the NF guru who calculates such things. :0)

I just read your review of Dark Knight, giving you a helpful, as I thought you were right on target. I felt the same as you and also wrote a helpful review that many people did not like apparently. I thought it was a great movie even if you don't like that genre.

Yes, like yours, too. I chose her as my icon because people have been telling me I look like her since I was 9. Other things she and I have in common: same age, both had a gap between our two front teeth as kids, we both speak French. :-)
